Lemonade has launched renters insurance in Nebraska, extending its app-based insurance model to tenants across the state.
Insurtech said Nebraska renters now get access to policies designed around digital quoting, policy changes and claims filing inside one app.
The company framed the launch around speed, simpler policy management and lower entry pricing for renters who want basic household protection without a traditional agency process.
Lemonade Renters lets customers get a quote, buy a policy, update coverage and file a claim from the same mobile platform. According to Lemonade, more than 50% of renters claims are handled instantly, which gives policyholders faster support after a covered loss.
Dan Timsit, head of renters insurance at Lemonade, said Nebraska renters deserve the same easy insurance process as customers in other states. He said Lemonade built its renters product to reduce the friction common in traditional insurance.
We built Lemonade to cut through the complexity that makes traditional insurance painful. We offer simple quotes, instant claims, and rates that don’t break the bank. Now we can deliver that to Nebraska, too.

Coverage starts at $5 per month. Lemonade said its renters insurance rates run about 30% below the national average, based on company and industry data.
Nebraska customers also qualify for additional savings in some cases. The insurer cited policy bundling, eligible home safety devices and annual billing as possible ways to reduce premiums.
The Nebraska launch adds another state to Lemonade’s renters insurance footprint as the company expands its US distribution. Lemonade now serves more than 3 mn active customers across its insurance products.
The company sells renters, home, pet, car and life insurance in selected markets across the US, the UK and Europe. Lemonade employs more than 1,200 people and says nearly half of claims across its platform are paid within seconds.
Lemonade positions itself as a customer-focused technology insurer built around AI, automated claims and social impact. The Nebraska rollout fits that model: low entry cost, mobile-first servicing and a claims process built to feel less like old-school insurance paperwork.
