Insurtech Orion180 hired former The Hartford executive Chris DiMartino as CUO

Orion180, an insurtech provider of innovative insurance solutions, announced it has hired former The Hartford executive Chris DiMartino as Chief Underwriting Officer.

DiMartino will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of underwriting, product development and management across its surplus and personal lines of business.

DiMartino brings 27 years of experience in underwriting, actuarial science, and product management in commercial and personal lines P&C insurance.

Prior to joining Orion180, he served as senior vice president of insurance services at AAA Northeast and held prominent leadership roles in his 20+ years at The Hartford, most recently serving as Head of Product for its $3 bn personal lines business.

DiMartino is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and a licensed attorney.

Chris brings deep expertise in underwriting and product management. His leadership will help us expand product lines and enter new states.

Ken Gregg, CEO and founder of Orion180

Orion180 also promoted Chief Operating Officer Ryan Jesenik to president of insurance. He will continue as COO while driving growth strategy and ensuring daily operations align with long-term objectives.

During Jesenik’s tenure, Orion180 has been recognized on the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing private companies list for two consecutive years.

He played a key role in expanding in-force premium to $263 mn and supported the launch of homeowners, FLEX, and private residential flood insurance products.

He also contributed to the release of the MY180 app, enabling agents to generate quotes and manage policies efficiently.

Ryan has helped Orion180 grow into one of the fastest-growing home insurance companies. I look forward to advancing our vision of offering greater choice and flexibility for consumers and agents.
