MetLife, in partnership with Aura, launched digital cyber safety tool for children

MetLife, in partnership with Aura, has launched a digital cyber safety tool designed to help parents monitor and support their children’s online activity.

Aura, which specializes in identity theft protection, developed the technology to address growing concerns about children’s mental and physical health in online environments.

The platform provides employees—especially parents—with a structured view of their children’s online behavior. It analyzes factors such as language use, emotional tone, and late-night activity to generate clear reports.

These reports highlight behavioral trends and potential cyber risks across apps, websites, and social media, while maintaining user privacy.

Pedja Arandjelovic, Head of Identity and Fraud Protection Business at MetLife Group Benefits, noted that this tool helps employers address increasing concerns related to children’s digital exposure and its mental health impact.

He said that Aura’s technology equips employers to better support families, especially as online risks expand.

We recognize the growing concerns families have when it comes to their children’s online behaviors and how it impacts their mental health

“Aura’s suite of online safety and mental balance tools enables us to help employers support their employees and families in protecting mental health and safeguarding in the online world. With Aura’s innovative technology, we are paving the way for a new frontier in benefit offerings to support employee mental health as online risks grow more pervasive,” said Pedja Arandjelovic.

Aura CEO Hari Ravichandran explained that the initiative stemmed from personal experience. He stated that without visibility into digital behavior, parents may remain unaware of issues affecting their children.

He emphasized the importance of having tools that provide insight without violating privacy, particularly as children’s online lives become less visible to adults.

Our kids’ lives have shifted to a boundless, invisible online world. Without a window into what’s happening online, we can’t hope to succeed in our primary role as parents. And if we aren’t succeeding at home, then we won’t excel at work

“My own kids were struggling, and I didn’t know, because it was masked behind their screens. I needed a solution that didn’t exist, so we built one.”

The collaboration reflects a broader shift among employers incorporating digital wellness tools into employee benefits. It underscores the connection between family health and employee performance, with companies recognizing the value of offering solutions that address both.
