Patra launches AI managed services for insurance workflows

Patra, which operates insurance production-grade agentic AI platforms, has launched managed services built around complete insurance agency workflows. The offering runs on its production-grade agentic AI platform. The company says the service follows how agencies already operate. It coordinates connected processes instead of automating isolated back-office tasks.

Patra also carries errors and omissions coverage covering its AI-delivered services. The policy gives clients added protection around agentic AI service delivery.

CEO Pratap Sarker said Patra spent years investing in agentic AI. Decades of insurance workflow management shaped the operating model behind it. Patra has managed tens of thousands of insurance processes during that period. According to Sarker, those years produced the platform supporting broader workflow automation.

Agencies face pressure to increase output with fewer internal resources. Sarker said they aren’t looking for another software tool to learn. Patra’s managed services instead place workflow ownership with an external operating partner. Agentic AI handles much of the speed and process precision involved.

Patra expects this model to reduce operating costs and release capacity. Sarker said traditional outsourcing hadn’t produced savings at the same scale. The difference sits in managing the workflow end to end.

Much insurance back-office support still follows a familiar operating structure. Agencies either manage work internally or outsource individual tasks to providers. Internal teams still coordinate those separate activities, adding work between process stages.

Patra’s managed services change how those tasks move through operations. A single trigger starts the full workflow across connected processing steps. The platform then handles tasks sequentially under each client’s agreed procedures.

Document retrieval starts the process before policy checking and final delivery. Automated quality checks run inside the platform throughout the operating sequence. Patra insurance professionals review the work at designated decision points. Clients step in only when approvals or escalations require their involvement.

Post-bind processing represents Patra’s first managed services workflow. It covers document retrieval, indexing and policy checking after binding. The workflow also handles agency management system data updates and delivery.

Renewal certificate processing forms another part of the same service. Those activities often consume many hours across several weeks. Outsourcing partners haven’t removed the coordination burden from agency teams.

Under Patra’s model, the workflow moves through processing within days. Human review and decision-making require only a few minutes, Patra said. The company plans further managed workflows as the service develops.

Patra processes tens of millions of insurance transactions each year. Its clients include large brokers, agencies, MGAs and insurance wholesalers.

The managed services draw on two decades of insurance operating experience. Patra works across property and casualty insurance and employee benefits. Its teams combine insurance expertise with the company’s agentic AI platform.

Each workflow follows procedures agreed separately with the client. AI handles workflow execution, while insurance professionals review selected processing stages. Patra then delivers the completed outcome rather than disconnected outsourced tasks.
