Insurtech Shory has introduced Shory AI, a conversational insurance agent designed to simplify car insurance comparisons and purchases in the UAE. The insurtech unveiled the service on October 8 at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026, extending its use of artificial intelligence across digital insurance distribution.
The new platform moves beyond conventional insurance chatbots, which primarily respond to customer questions. Shory AI takes a more active role in the purchasing process, helping motorists evaluate available policies and understand differences in insurance coverage before selecting a product.
Built on Shory’s existing digital insurance infrastructure, the agent compares available insurance quotes and explains policy benefits alongside exclusions. It also answers questions about individual policies in English and Arabic. Once customers select their preferred coverage, Shory AI assists them with completing the transaction.
Comparing motor insurance products often requires customers to examine multiple quotations with different pricing structures and coverage conditions. These differences aren’t always obvious, especially when policies contain specific exclusions or varying benefit levels.
Shory AI brings policy comparisons and purchasing assistance into one conversational interface. Customers receive information relevant to their insurance choices without having to assess each offer through separate interactions.
Aoun Al Smadi, CEO of Shory UAE, said understanding insurance products remains difficult for customers, particularly when comparing policies offering different levels of protection.
He believes AI-driven assistance offers an opportunity to make coverage terms easier to interpret and help customers make better-informed purchasing decisions.
Insurance can be difficult to navigate, particularly when customers are comparing policies with different levels of coverage, benefits and exclusions. We see a real opportunity for AI to give people more clarity and confidence when making those decisions.
Aoun Al Smadi, CEO of Shory UAE
“Shory AI reflects where we believe the insurance experience is heading, with technology playing a more active role in helping customers understand their options and make informed choices”, Aoun Al Smadi noted.
According to Al Smadi, the development represents Shory’s approach to a more interactive insurance experience, with AI providing practical assistance during product evaluation rather than operating solely as a customer support channel.
The launch at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 forms part of Shory’s continued investment in AI applications for insurance. Its immediate focus is car insurance, where the company aims to reduce the complexity of comparing quotations and completing purchases.
Shory is part of First. tech and operates within Judan Financial Holding, the financial services platform of International Holding Company (IHC). The introduction of Shory AI expands the company’s digital insurance offering with conversational product comparisons and transaction support.
