Blockchain Network

A blockchain network is a technical infrastructure that provides ledger and smart contract (chaincode) services to applications.

Currently, there are at least four types of blockchain networks — public blockchains, private blockchains, consortium blockchains and hybrid blockchains.

Ethereum is a distributed public blockchain network that focuses on running programming code of any decentralized application. More simply, it is a platform for sharing information across the globe that cannot be manipulated or changed.
