Formerly known as Parked, Ownli is a startup founded in 2020 to focus on the insurance industry by offering a free consumer data monetization platform.
Led by Elan Nyer, Ownli allows users to self-report (no tracking, no hardware) mileage by submitting a photo of their car and odometer.
This way, your insurer can pay you for your data rather than a third party
And if the insurer isn’t an Ownli partner, users can use the app anyway as “There are plenty of insurance companies out there that would love to work with a mileage-conscious driver.”
Why did create Ownli?
Mileage is one of the top data points when it comes to assessing your risk for car insurance. The more you drive, the more likely you are to have a claim during your policy period and the less you drive, the less likely you are to have a claim. However, it’s very difficult for insurers to accurately capture mileage data while maintaining your privacy.
As an added bonus, if you happen to be a low-mileage driver, you’ll receive a bonus reward in addition to the monthly base reward. If your existing insurance company has not yet partnered with Ownli, feel free to use Ownli anyway to keep track of your mileage.
There are plenty of insurance companies out there that would love to work with a mileage-conscious driver like you and we’ll help you find the perfect fit.
We’ve gathered your feedback and we hear you loud and clear – you don’t want constant location and sensor tracking on your phone or to install tracking hardware in your car. That’s why Parked is powered by user-submitted data – you choose what to share. We don’t want to know where you’ve been or where you’re going; we just want to know how many miles you’ve driven.
