Thibaud Madelin – Research & Investigations Lead Elliptic
As Elliptic’s Research Lead, Thibaud brings considerable law enforcement investigative experience as an Organised Crime, Cybercrime and Cryptoassets specialist for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) – the UK tax authority.
He was instrumental in penetrating a sophisticated transnational cybercriminal group responsible for a sustained attack on the UK tax system, which led to the UK’s first seizure of NFTs. As a Subject Matter Expert he has led cryptoasset training for HMRC officers and the Romanian Border Police. He has also presented case studies to HMRC Senior Management and the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce on crypto crime matters.
